BowFlex XCEED Home Gym
BowFlex XCEED Home Gym
The XCEED is similar to the BowFlex XTREME SE2. It's actually the rebranded "XTREME SE1." They are very similar in design and functionality, with the main difference being the Quick Change Cable System (QCCS). With the QCCS, every pulley is loaded with resistance, so you can go from Goblet Squats to Lat Pulldown in seconds. Outside of the QCCS, the XCEED and XTREME are nearly identical.
The XCEED is what I feature in all my "Vertical Bench" videos. Switching from the ground pulleys to the Top Pulleys takes about 45 seconds. Not a show-stopper, but it does impact the flow of a workout. Choosing between the XCEED and the SE2 should come down to price.
A video review of the XCEED can be found here. Newer lifters might find all the XCEED's features and adjustments overwhelming. Avid or experienced lifters will like all the customizability.
- POWER ROD RESISTANCE: Is advertised at "210 pounds" but feels closer to 100lbs depending on the lift. Upgradeable to 410lbs of Power Rods (sold separately). (An Elastic Band Upgrade can double or triple the available resistance at a very low cost.)
- VERTICAL BENCH DESIGN is ideal for Chest Exercises. 4 pulley positions flank the bench—allowing lifters to hit different parts of the chest and arms.
- LAT & SQUAT BARS included. If you want to do Leg workouts on your Bowflex, get an XCEED or XTREME. I love squats on this machine!
