Stacking Foundations Routines into a BIG Workout?

TroyB asks: "Would you recommend doing [Foundations] Push Day 1 then 2 in the same workout for a big one?"

You certainly could, but the routines weren't designed for this. You'll find a few exercises are repeated in both days 1 & 2. Completing a lift to failure, then cycling back around to it again later in the workout is a less than optimal strategy to build muscle.

Here are some other options.

  1. The free PDFs linked in the description of each video has extra space to write-in a few lifts. I would find 2 lifts not performed in Push Day 1 and add them to your workout (write them in and track it too). These lifts could come from Push 2 Day or could be other favorites.
  2. Staple on a Core Routine to a workout. There are 3 Core Routines in the Program and they can be added onto any workout.
  3. Turn a "Push Day" into an "Upper Body Day" by combining a Push workout and a Pull Workout.

I'll be releasing a few routines called "Weekend Warriors" in October/November that I think will be right up your alley. Weekend Warriors will be challenging, +45 min routines designed for folks that like doing big workouts on the weekend.

Also, I do plan to put out more programs like Foundations in the future. Foundations is intended for all levels and upcoming programs will likely be a bit more advanced/higher volume.

Thanks for the question! For those interested in the PR Foundations program, check it the below video!
