How to Row on the Bowflex

Rowing on a Bowflex is just weird. The weights and angles are all wrong. Are you rowing with your legs, arms, or forearms? It just doesn't feel like a row machine should and so it's hard to get into a rhythm.

You can fix that with just a few off-the-shelf parts:

  1. Bungee Cords
  2. Optional Belt Swap
  3. Pull-up Assist Bands
  4. Short Handles

You might be surprised do see me use Bungee Cords over elastic bands. The Bungee Cords we proven to be much more durable when elastic bands overheated and sheared from friction.

Check out this video to see how it all comes together:

If you do complete the set-up, check out my row machine workouts #1 & #2. This set-up is also great for watching TV to pass the time as it makes for a relatively silent row machine.
